OUR HISTORY

Starting as a small group of folks talking with one another about the unique needs and challenges facing LGBT parents, Rainbow Families New Jersey was formalized in 1995, originally as Lambda Families of New Jersey (LFNJ).  In 2006 “LFNJ” officially became Rainbow Families of New Jersey (RFNJ), and incorporated as a tax-exempt 501(c)3 non-profit organization under New Jersey state law.
