Social Events – FREE to our members
LFNJ aims to provide social events where kids can have fun, parents can meet and network with one another, and our children can see other families like theirs. Among our key events:

  • Parent’s Day in April— a celebration honoring LFNJ’s Moms and Dads! Includes a potluck lunch, dessert, playtime, arts & crafts
    and a family “Sharing Circle”.
  • Our SPOOKTACULAR Halloween Party each October - Includes games, activities, treats, and of course a costume parade.
  • The Holiday Party in December - a year-end celebration of the holiday and New Year season. Typically includes a buffet lunch, playtime, arts & crafts, and a visit from the Winter Snowman!
  • For the first time, we will host a central NJ event this year! The Family Picnic will be held in May at Holmdel Park in
    Monmouth County!

Educational Programs
We produce the Biennial LGBT Family Conference, a full day of workshops & presentations covering a wide range of topics important to GLBT couples & families. LFNJ members receive reduced registration fees.

Support Groups & Local Play Groups
In addition to events, we offer several support groups that address the unique needs of our diverse membership. These include:

  • The SOLF group (Starting Our Lambda Families) supporting those on the road to parenthood.
  • Dad’s Group.
  • Local Playgroups—Essex, Bergen, Monmouth/Ocean.
  • LFNJ sponsors the NJ chapter of COLAGE (Children Of Lesbians And Gays Everywhere), for kids 8 and older.

Tools for Communication & Sharing
LFNJ offers more than just events and support groups. We also:

  • Produce a quarterly Newsletter.
  • Provide email updates and action alerts on critical happenings.
  • Invite members to join our Yahoo Listserv. Listserv participants can use a single email address to share information, pose questions, and communicate with other members.
